Orphans are among the most vulnerable members of society, and in Islam, they hold a special place of honor and protection. Without care, these children risk hunger, exploitation, and a life without education. Allah SWT mentioned in the Quraan again and again to love the orphan. Allah SWT mentioned not to opress them.

فَأَمَّا ٱلۡيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقۡهَرۡ

So as for the orphan, do not oppress.

Honerable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) also encauraged us again again to show kindness to them, in one Hadith he mentioned

عَنْ سَهْل بْن سَعْدٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَنَا وَكَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ هَكَذَا وَقَالَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى

Sahl ibn Sa’d (RD) reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. [Bukhārī 6005]

In another Hadith he said, “The best house among the Muslims is the house in which orphans are well-treated.” (Ibn Majah 3669)

Our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) himself was an orphan, his grandfather initially and his uncle Abu Talib took his responsibility in his childhood. He also took responsibility of many orphan’s kids from Ummahatul Mu’mineen’s previous children, he gave all of them parental care like a father. This is a beautiful and very important Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). In Islam Kindness to orphan is a great Amaal, Allah SWT again and again mentioned in Quraan about the kindness towards Orphans. Let’s build an orphanage to make a shelter for the Orphans or come forward to sponsor an orphan every month.
