Madrasah is a place where Muslim children learn the Quran and religious knowledge, get Islamic counseling, develop strong personalities, build good character, learn and share qualities with each other, and learn to show kindness, compassion and love, and so on. The importance of Madrasah in an Islamic society or for Muslim children is unmatched. Madrasah builds character, quality, positivity, and connection with Allah SWT and Deen. Our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said,

الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ (Deen is Naseehah) this highlights the significance of guidance and sincerity in our faith. Through the teachings and experiences gained at Madrasah, children not only grow in their understanding of Islamic principles but also learn the value of compassion and integrity, which are essential for their development as responsible members of the society.

Deen Islam is the religion that revealed by Allah SWT from heaven; this is not something man made; rather, each and every part of Deen is protected by heavenly knowledge. Allah SWT sent these heavenly knowledge and rules to Ambiya AS until he perfected it by Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) who transmitted them to the Sahaba RD, and they conveyed them to Tabieen and Tabe Tabieen (RH), who taught them to their disciples and students, who went in every direction on this earth to teach mankind the golden lesson’s of Islamic law and the Islamic way of life. And that’s how this heavenly knowledge came until us and behind this protected knowledge, there is a history of great sacrifice and Maujahada. In every era Allah SWT chooses the best among the best’s to impart this heavenly knowledge to mankind. They are called Ahlul Ilm (People of knowledge). In the Madrasah, we and our flower-like children get connected with Ahlul Ilm, who teaches us the Quran, teaches us the Islamic way of life, gives us Fikr of Akhirah, and gives us the right counsel and support in our hardship of life. Therefore, Madrasah is very important in Islam and Muslim, because when Madaris will remain Islamic teaching will remain protected in the heart of next generation and that is the reason why building Madaris has been said to be Sadaqah Jariyah by our beloved prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)and who built the first Madrasah in Masjidun Nabawi, Madrasatu Suffah,

In one Hadith, our honorable prophet, Saw, has said,

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

and he was the first teacher of that Madrasah while his students were Abu Bakar RD, Umar RD, Uthman RD, Ali RD, Talha RD, and all other Sahaba RD. They learned from him in such a way that they turned a copy of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)? Their life was the example of him; if he said anything, they were ready to give life for that. An amazing quality of obedience was engraved in their hearts by sitting in the lessons of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). Abu Hurairah (RD) was also his student, Aishah (RD) was his student, men in the raised platform of Suffah and women at home were busy to learn the knowledge of Islam with such great zeal that the entire state of Madinah became a place of learning and teaching. Father, mother, children, everyone was ready to protect Islam in their chest, and that’s how they learned the value of Deen and got ready to give everything for Deen and for the protection of Deen.

Today the spirit of Islam vanished from our hearts because of ignorance and lack of knowledge of Deen in our heart. We learnt and taught worldly education so much that we became forgetful about the knowledge that came from heaven, which is eternal, which is forever and never-ending, which will make our kids honorable, good-behaved, and real Muslims, which will give us selflessness and the quality to do for others. We became so selfish and individualistic that we think about our own success only, become jelouse of others success and the reason of this decline is lack of heavenly knowledge, our heart became empty of Deen and filled with worldly desire. In this situation, it is incumbent upon us to build more Madaris, search for pious and righteous Ahlul Ilm, learn the path of eternal success, and bring it into our lives.

The raised platform of Suffah, which has been transformed with nice decoration. During the time of Nabi SAW it was just raised platform where the people of Suffah would stay and they and other sahaba RD would learn knowledge from Prophet (Sallallahu Alahi wa Sallam).

Shaitan stays away from a knowledgeable person because they pose a challenge to his deceptive nature. Such individuals can see through the light of their knowledge, of his tricks and manipulations. Therefore, it is said in a Hadith,

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضْلُ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِي عَلَى أَدْنَاكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ وَأَهْلَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرَضِينَ حَتَّى النَّمْلَةَ فِي جُحْرِهَا وَحَتَّى الْحُوتَ لَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مُعَلِّمِ النَّاسِ الْخَيْرَ

وَقَالَ الفُضيْلُ بنُ عِيَاضٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَالِمٌ عَامِلٌ مُعَلِّمٌ يُدْعَى كَبِيرًا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَوَاتِ

Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said“The virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like my virtue over the least of you. Verily, Allah, His angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and earth, even the ant in its hole and the fish, send blessings upon the one who teaches people what is good.”

Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad (RH) said, “A scholar who works in teaching has a high status in the domain of the heavens.”

It is said on the day of judgment the people of Ilm will remain among the Muqarrabun, near to Allah. Therefore, we need to produce more people of Ilm in our era, state and community, and for that we need to work hard to build more Madaris and Makatib in our beautiful Australia and throughout the world, inshaAllah. In island many new Muslim brothers and sisters need to taught the basics of Islam, to teach Quraan to their children Maktab needs to built. If we don’t come forward who will do it? It is us who are the strength to create a beatiful Maslim society.
