Masjid is a part and parcel of the life of a Muslim, serving as a place of Ibaadah (worship), community gathering, and spiritual reflection. Within its walls, Muslims brothers or sisters come together to pray, learn, and support one another. A Masjid makes us united and together spiritually, mentally and socially. Since the beginning of Islam, all the activities of a Muslim have been based on the Masjid, and that was the desire of our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), who keenly desired the men of this Ummah to remain connected with the Masjid. As soon as Islam got its freedom and a safe land in Madinah, our honorable Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) built a Masjid even before entering Madinah. Masjid was like an Islamic parliament at that time; like the example of a parliament, we receive all the rules and regulations and the new budget or any new command of the state from the state parliament. Masjid was like that during the time of our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and Khulafa Rashida. Any problems or issues of Madinah or the Muslim Ummah were handled in the Masjid. People would help each other, solve country or family issues, or any situation’s in the Masjid. Somebody needed food or money or indebted; they came into the Masjid, and the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) would help or announce from the pulpit to help him on behalf of Him, people would come in numbers to help each other. As soon as the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam’s) call would come, even the needy Sahabi (RD) would come to help others. That’s how a beautiful and harmonious city was built with mutual love, kindness and brotherhood, and the center of the city was Al-Masjidun Nabawi.
However, The first Masjid of Islam was Masjid Qubah; this is a virtuous Masjid that is situated approximately 3.25 kilometers away from Al-Masjidun Nabawi. Masjid Quba was built in 622 AD. During the journey of our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam’s) migration to Madinah. When He reached near Madinah, He stopped at the place and spent 10 days and initiated the construction of Masjid Qubah. It is rewardable to pray two Raka’ah Salah in Masjid Qubah during Hajj journey. This is the first Masjid, which was built by the Mubarak hand and plan of our honorable prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).

Masjid Qubah, The first Masjid of Islam
Sahaba (RD) narrated, during the construction, He (Prophet saw) himself laid down the bricks, and Sahaba (RD) joined him in this noble task and built the Masjid with raw bricks with date palm leaves. One of the Sahabi said, “During the construction, Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) would bear stones and rocks on his back until it bent. I saw dust on his clothes and his stomach. He refused to take help from others, insisting that they carry similar loads in his stead.” He did not stay back; rather bore the hardship of breaking the stones, carrying the load of construction by himself. That’s how the first Masjid was built. And after that, the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) led the Salah to Sahaba (RD) in Masjid Qubah and Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said,
‘Whoever goes out to this Masjid – the Masjid of Quba’ and prays therein, that will be equivalent to ‘Umrah.’ (Sunan an-Nasa’i 699)
Therefor, we learnt that building a Masjid is the noble Sunnah of our honorable Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), an action of Sadaqah Jariyah. We will pass away from this world, but the Masjid we built, people will keep praying Salaah, doing the activity of Deen, teaching Quraan, and give charity, and we will keep getting reward forever in our grave. Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said,
مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ أَوْ أَصْغَرَ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ
“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 738)
in an another Hadith he said,
مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ
“Whoever builds a Masjid in which Allah is remembered, Allah, (the Mighty and Sublime) will build for him a house in Paradise. ( Sunan an-Nasa’i 688)
Therefore, let’s build Masaajid more and more. We need more Masajid and Musallah in all over Australia. There are many new Muslims in Papua Nuw Guinea, Vanuatu, and Solomon Islands, who need a place to pray 5 times prayer. Many remote places where Masajid’s need to be built. Let’s come together and build many masaajid throughout the world. Donate and participate in building a Masjid.

Masjid needed in popua new Guiuea, Vanuatu and many other places.
